Outcomes of Workshop
This workshop will enable you to:
- Understand the weighting of the teaching time for English HL
- Understand how the 2 week cycle works and how to apply it to their own Annual Teaching Plan (ATP)
- Clarification of integrational approach in CAPS
- Gain understanding about the Annual Teaching Plan
- Apply the cognitive levels of Barrett’s taxonomy when setting exam papers
- Know the structure and content layout of the CAPS
- Be able to teach their learners how to understand and interpret the visual and verbal clues presented in cartoons, adverts and graphs
- Know how to teach their learners how to tackle Paper 2 in the final examinations so that their learners will answer the correct questions and not be penalised for answering the wrong questions
- Know how to teach their learners to answer contextual-based questions as well as the literary essay
- Know the important characteristics of the different prescribed literary genres
